Here is the tentative itinerary for my ten day exploration of Morocco:
Day 1 – depart JFK on Royal Air Maroc enroute to Casablanca
Day 2 – Arrive Casablanca, bus to Rabat, then on to Fez
Day 3 – Fez
Day 4 – Meknes, then to Volubilis
Day 5 – through the Atlas Mountains to Ifrane, then on to Marrakech
Day 6 – Marrakech
Day 7 – through the Tichka Pass to Taddert, Ouarzazate, and then to Zagora
Day 8 – M’Hamid, the gateway to the Sahara desert
Day 9 – to Marrakech, then the Draa Valley and on to Ouarzazate again
Day 10 – Return to Casablanca for return flight to JFK.
Looks to be a great itinerary, with visits to souks, camel rides, Roman ruins, traditional Moroccan cuisine, dancing, and songs. Keep the intinerary handy so you can follow along with me as I blog and post photos from each stop on the journey.
