Here is a brief rundown of where we expect to be traveling while in Costa Rica, where we will be staying, and what we plan to do while there.
Day 1: Arrival at San Jose. Overnight at www.hotelfleurdelys.com
Day 2: San Jose tour by foot and bus. Visits to the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum.
Day 3: Poas Volcano National Park. Overnight at www.laquintasarapiqui.com.
Day 4: whitewater rafting on the Sarapiqui River
Day 5: Tirimbina Biological Reserve, then to to Arenal, one of the world’s 12 most active volcanoes. Then to Tabacon Hot Springs, a thermal wonderland. Overnight at www.hotelarenalsprings.com.
Day 6: river trip in Caño Negro Wetlands.
Day 7: Monteverde. Overnight at www.elestablo.com.
Day 8: 1.9 mile Treetop Walk, Hummingbird Garden, and reptile-and-amphibian exhibition.
Day 9: Day cruise in the Gulf of Nicoya—Beach time
Day 10: Early afternoon transfer to the airport to fly home.
