Today’s trip was to Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city. This trip ws just a bit disppointing, as there was so much to see and not nearly enough time to get to everything. Our tour was mostly by bus, so we got to see many of the iconic sites, but only from afar. We walked the “Royal Mile”, and visited St. Giles Cathedral, where John Knox helped to launch the Protestant Reformation in Scotland.
This is St. Giles Cathedral, situated about midway down the “Royal Mile”, the main thoroughfare through the Old City, from the Edinburgh Castle to the Holyrood Palace.
Parliament Square, along the Royal Mile, is home to Scotland’s legal system, including the High Court of Judiciary and the Court of Session. It is also a prime venue for buskers and other entertainers.
